Easter Is About the True Champion!

The world is always looking for world champions in sports. Our country is now looking for national

champions in collegiate basketball. And, there is a lot of emphasis on being the star of the champions.

The work and determination to secure such a prize is tremendous. Millions of dollars is spent on this

entertainment aspect of  our society. People would rather spend all that money because they want to

be amused. "Amused" means "not having to think."

However, we must think about the eternal meaning of Easter. It is about the Risen Lord! He took on

sin, and carried the burden of ALL mankind on that cruel cross on Good Friday. And, He arose on

Easter morning-Resurrection Day! Our enemy, the devil, is forever defeated by this great act of love

by Jesus Christ!

Thus, Jesus is the True Champion! One of my favorite rallying songs is "Hail to the Victors". It is

my favorite team's fight song. But, it is only an earthly song of praise. I look forward to the day

when I can sing heavenly praises in glory to the True Champion. I'm practicing now for the heavenly

choir.I sing praise to the The True Champion, Jesus Christ!

The Years Grow Sweeter

Today my wife Connie and I have been married 27 and 1/2 years. That's half-way to 55 years-something to keep living for until the Lord takes us home or He intervenes in His Second Coming, which we don't know when it will happen. What is important is that we live and love and grow old together-which is possible if we take care of our bodies and keep our minds active and our spirits in tune with the Spirit of God.

We realize that we must work at our relationship and share the load and be sensitive to each other's needs. What is important is that we live one day at a time and give it our best shot and then learn from our mistakes and work on our relationship to make it stronger in the Lord.

Well, I am working at our marriage and enjoying the journey. Life is good because the wife is happy! For you can be right or she can be happy. What do you want from your marriage or relationship?

RetreatsAreGood

I am sitting here in Holiday Inn in Muskegon, MI. It has been a wonderful experience. We have an 80-something (I think) speaker who is an awesome man of God. I thought it will be nice to see the guys from the district and Arlo Newell is frosting on the cake. We were laughing our heads off as he shared about "Holiness and Happiness."

And, it is wonderful to get away with my loving wife, Connie. She needed to get away more than I did-and she is enjoying herself as much or more than I am.

Well, this is a short "kick-off" to my world. I hope you are having a good start to your day!
